Summer Camp Programme 2011

The aim of the Summer Camp programme at Links Childcare is to expose your child to as many different activities as possible. This provides a well rounded education, while still being throughly enjoyable. The camps focus on three main areas:

Sport
Music
Cultural Development and appreciation of nature

Sport

This improves your child's co-ordination, dexterity and general aptitude for various sports. It encourages your child to keep fit and be active but also instills in them the importance of team work which is hugely valuable to them in future years. The sports available to your child include:

Soccer Gaelic Football Basketball Hockey
Golf Horse Riding Badminton Tennis Cricket

Music

Links Childcare this summer will commence its Music Workshop. This will provide exposure to your child to various instruments. We will offer your child the opportunity to try out the piano, violin, clarinet, bassoon, flute amongst others. The aim of the programme is not to fully teach your child an instrument but to teach them how to respect an instrument and try to spark an interest in music within them that you as parents may be able to develop further outside of creche hours. Your child will also have the opportunity to learn dancing; both Hip-Hop and Irish Dancing are taught during the Summer Camp.

Cultural Development and Appreciation of Nature

Here at Links Childcare we believe that your childs cultural development and appreciation of nature is extremely important, and so, we provide an opportunity for the Senior and some Junior After School Children to explore both the rich cultural opportunities and the wonderful nature that Dublin has to offer. Trips to the Botanical Gardens, Phoenix Park, Beach and Tours of Dublin City provide the enrichment which is so important to your child's development in a well rounded way. The Book of Kells, The National History Museum and The National Art Gallery are but a few of the sites which are taken in during Camp.

The camps are split into age appropriate groups:

Junior After School    Ages 6 - 7
Senior After School   Ages 8+

Our camps are all based in Portmarnock Community School on Carrickhill Drive, Portmarnock. Here we can avail of their superb sports hall and equipment in enclosed secure grounds providing us the ideal location for a safe environment to learn, play and grow.
